Huanggutun Locomotive and rolling stock works moved further north and merged with Qiqihar Rolling Stock works; the merged company was named Qiqihar Rolling Stock works, majorly involved in repair of locomotive, passenger coach and freight wagons and some new wagon production. |

Qiqihar Rolling Stock Works was designated by the government as a company mainly involved in freight wagon and rescue crane production in conjunction with repair work. |

The company expansion completed; upgraded into a company with 8000 employees and yearly production capacity of 7400 wagons. |

Ownership that lasted for 63 years terminated; the company was re-structured as CNR Qiqihar Railway Rolling Stock (Group) Co. Ltd. (QRRS) directly affiliated to China Northern Locomotive and Rolling Stock Industry Corporation (CNR). |
