Qiqihar Railway Rolling Stock Co., Ltd. (QRRS) was founded in 1935, reorganized to a wholly state-funded company in 1998 and is currently owned by China CNR Corporation Limited (CNR). QRRS is a leading provider and export base in the field of design and manufacture of wagons and railway cranes in China. QRRS is of a large enterprise group comprising of four R&D and manufacture facilities in Qiqihar, Mudanjiang, Harbin and Dalian and focusing on the four core businesses, wagon manufacture, wagon overhaul, railway crane manufacture and overhaul, manufacture of wagon parts and components. QRRS has an annual manufacture and overhaul capacity of 19,000 wagons and 30 railway cranes. QRRS has manufactured so far over 280,000 wagons since 1949 with domestic market share being 20%. QRRS is in possession of RMB4.9 billion capital asserts and 8,540 sets of equipments and is recognized as a pearl in the palm within railway equipment suppliers in China.
QRRS has implemented large scope technological redevelopment including importing nine world advanced production lines such as axle and wheel finish machining and assembling line from USA, steel casting impulse moulding line from Germany, steel casting no-bake resin sand moulding line from Italy, etc. as well as reconstructing 10 fundamental production lines. CAD, CAPP and ERP and some other technical and managerial tools have been widely applied. QRRS has been certified in accordance with ISO9001:2000 quality management system, ISO14001 environmental management system, ISO28001 occupational health and safety management system. QRRS is appraised as one of the 500 largest enterprises in Chinese machinery and one of the world’s 500 largest railway transportation equipment suppliers.
QRRS is capable of designing and manufacturing the whole spectrum of products including open-top wagon, covered wagon, flat wagon, special wagon for oversize or overweight loads, hopper wagon, special-purpose wagon, railway crane and wagon parts and components, totally in 9 categories and more than 200 types. Not only is QRRS holding technological leading position in Chinese wagon suppliers, especially dominant in R&D and manufacture with more than ten new model wagons for Chinese Railways’ sixth speed-up, but has also exported its products to more than ten countries and regions worldwide.
