                     Principal Features of Type K1 Series Bogie

 

Type K1 bogie is one of cast steel three-piece bogies with variable friction snubbing system. And the K1 bogie is Low Track Force Bogie.

The saddle-shaped rubber shear pad is located between the adapter and the side frame pedestal, which makes resilient positioning of the wheel set available with the vertical rigidity, longitudinal rigidity, lateral rigidity and positioning structure of upper surface and bottom surface resulting in rail-wheel lateral force being reduced when rolling stocks negotiating the curve with a sharp radius.

Thanks to the four-fod-linkage elastically connecting two side frames, the square formed by four resilient connecting positions will increase warp resistance of the bogie decreasing the negative effects on the ride quality due to lozenge distortion. Meanwhile, it still maintains advantage of three-piece-bogies compatible for negotiating the sharp curve.

The double-acting constant contact rollers side bearing will restrain hunting movement with the friction force generated by friction surfaces between the body side bearing and bogie side bearing.

The improved duo-rigidity for center suspension system will increase spring static deflection of the empty wagon. The wear-proof parts will prolong the service life of the snubbing system.

The wear liner made from high molecule material, located between the bogie center plate and body center plate, will effectively improve the wearing condition of the center plate.

The type K1 bogie is suitable for various types of freight wagons with different axle load running at the max. speed of 120 km/h on the lines with different track gauge.

Hundreds of wagons in different axle-load and serving for various purposes, more importantly fitted with this type of bogie, have been exported to Australia. The bogies have been well acclaimed and highly recognized especially for their features instrumental to reduce wheel flange wear and cut maintenance cost.
